Registration closes the week prior to the commencement of classes.

A minimum number of students is required for each course to proceed.

SNA Level 5 (QQI) – 12 weeks

START DATE: Tuesday 10^th February NOTE CHANGE OF DATE

Time: 6:45 pm – 9:15 pm

This course aims to develop the skills, knowledge & understanding of the role of the Special Needs Assistant and promote high quality practice among those working across the education system.

You will be required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of work experience (previously 30) for this course, which will give you hands-on experience and enhance your overall learning experience. You will be required to secure your own work placement.

SNA Level 6 (QQI) – 10 weeks

This course aims to develop the skills, knowledge & understanding of the role of the Special Needs Assistant and promote high quality practice among those working across the education system.

On this course, you will:

• Explore strategies to assist in the provision of this education and care. The course will explore the role of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams to ensure integration, inclusion, and equal opportunities
• Develop an understanding of the importance and function of IEP’S/PPP’s and the role you play as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Critically evaluate the provision of education for those with Special Educational Needs, with reference to past and current legislation.
• You will develop the capacity to work and communicate effectively with parents, families, colleagues, and other professionals to safeguard, support and promote children’s learning, development and well-being.

Sport, Health & Fitness Classes

Gentle Breathwork – 6weeks NOT PROCEEDING

START DATE: Wednesday 4^th February

Time: 7 pm – 8 pm

Discover gentle, accessible breathwork techniques for everyone of all ages in our new 6-week course. This calming class will guide you through simple practices that support relaxation, balance and calm, helping you navigate life's busy or stressful moments with more ease.

For the class you will need to bring along a Yoga mat & water, along with a blanket & pillow for extra comfort.

(This can also be done seated for those of you who may find the floor uncomfortable).

Chair Yoga & Sound Healing – 10 weeks

Our wonderful Mary Whelan is back with this new class. Chair Yoga is a great opportunity to practice yoga in a safe & enjoyable way. We will move slowly and gently as we practice many postures to become more flexible and physically stronger sitting on a chair.

Sound Healing is an ancient wellness practice that uses sound vibrations from instruments like gongs and singing bowls to promote relaxation and healing. It works by influencing the body's frequencies, helping to restore balance and reduce stress, anxiety and pain.

Hatha Yoga – 10 weeks

Enjoy this weekly one hour class, the practice of breath, body & mind, with our experienced instructor. In the interest of health & safety, students are required to bring their own mat.

Pilates – 10 weeks

This exercise regime, typically performed on a floor mat aims to improve flexibility & stability by strengthening the muscles, especially the torso-stabilising muscles of the abdomen & lower back.

Pregnancy Pilates – 10 weeks NEW

This class is designed around your body's changing needs during pregnancy and provides you the muscular support you need for a smoother pregnancy experiece. These are gently low impact Pilates classes that reduce tension in the back, hips and shoulders whilst also strengthening your core and pelvic floor muscles.

There is no previous Pilates experience required to attend and all Pilates mats, block, bands and stabiliity balls are provided.

Stretch & Flex Pilates for the Over 50's – 10 weeksSOLD OUT

This is a joint friendly Mat Pilates class aimed at improving the mobility and flexibility of your joints to alleviate stiffness and improve movement in your everyday life. This class is suitable for both men and women.

Salsa & Bachata – 10 weeks

Freesalsa Ireland welcomes back all our students (old & new) to St Mary’s College, to our Rueda de Casino (Salsa Cubana) and Bachata classes for 2026 . In this class we use a combination of footwork, choreography and fun as we take you through the basics & fundamentals of both dances.

Classes with Jason will be across two levels (basics & veterans) with folks welcome to join either group depending on previous experience & ability. We look forward to seeing you soon. Ahí na ma!!

Creative Writing – 10 weeks

This course, run by Mary Whelan, is suitable for beginners and experienced writers. It will help you use your creative imagination and express it through literature. Stories will be written as you develop characters, settings, dialogue, and many other writing tools.

All you need is a brand-new notebook and a pen.

Join Ruth Teskey for her 8-week crochet class.

Throughout the course, you will learn all the basics of crochet by completing a small project. Drama for Beginners – 10 weeks

Have you ever wanted to perform or simply escape your everyday life by creating and becoming a character? Take a step into the fascinating world of acting, work with other students to build different characters and see where they take you in this one-of-a-kind course.

"Acting 101: The fundamentals" allows students to pick up a base knowledge of the skills you need to begin your acting journey, whether that be at a hobbyist or professional level. The course provides confidence when entering a rehearsal space for the first time that you know as much as everyone else in the room. It will also be a safe place to explore your creativity while having fun and learning the craft of acting.

Aaron Lockhart will be your guide on this journey. A current industry professional with over 16 years of experience in Shows like “Fair City”, “Red Rock” and the award-winning film “Herself”, he can confidently guide you in the right direction if you would like to pursue a future in acting as well as keeping the classes incredibly fun and engaging if you would just like to join your local theatre group.

Remember we get to play pretend in this class, always respect the craft of acting but never forget the fun of the work.

Genealogy for Beginners – 8 weeks

Who do you think you are? If you’ve ever been curious about your family origins & history, this course is for you!

Facilitated by award winning author James Durney, you can delve deep into your family history with this 8-week course.

James works in Kildare County Archives and Local Studies & has over 15 years’ experience teaching to mature students. This introductory course will show you how to trace your family history and build up your family tree. The course will look at births, deaths, marriages, census returns and many more records from Ireland and some from the UK and USA.

Own laptop/tablet required, basic computer skills essential. Spaces limited to 10.

Knitting for All – 10 weeks NOT PROCEEDING

START DATE: Monday 9^th February

Time: 7 pm – 9 pm

Learn to knit in a relaxed and fun environment with our new 10 week course. This class is suitable for beginners and those who are looking to improve their knitting skills. Over the 10 weeks you will learn:

• the basic stitches plain & purl
• how to cast on and off stitches
• how to read patterns
• complete a small project such as a scarf, hat, tea cosy etc.

Simply bring your ball of double knitting wool & a pair of 4mm knitting needles. Patterns will be provided as part of the course but feel free to bring your own pattern if you prefer and you will be guided through it in class!

Machine Sewing for Beginners – 10 weeks

We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Magda from MeMade by Magdalena for our machine sewing at St Mary's College! Get creative with your sewing, or just learn how to use that machine in the corner with this passionate & inspiring tutor. This course will teach you the basics of sewing by machine & no doubt you'll discover a new passion by the end of the 10 weeks. Course numbers limited to 8 to ensure tutor time for all students.

Own sewing machine will be required for this class along with some basic materials (scissors, measuring tape, pins etc.) The course fee includes some material for the first 2 classes.

Machine (Advanced) Sewing – 10 weeks

We are delighted to announce that our wonderful tutor MeMade by Magdalena will teach our advanced machine sewing class this term. This 10-week course is for those who have completed our beginners class with Magdalena (or similar) & students will make a trouser/top combo.

Own sewing machine will be required & please ensure that it is serviced in advance of the class (if not in perfect working order!). Materials required for the project will be supplied with the exception of the digital pattern.

Mask/Prop Making – 8 weeks NOT PROCEEDING

Learn how to make movie quality masks & props from an industry professional! In this course you will learn the basics of making/upgrading latex and plastic masks including painting techniques; how to use sculpting, moulding and casting, as well as making props such a resin weapons and more!

This course is led by industry professional Aaron Lockhart who, in his varied career has worked on short films, halloween haunts and international theatre productions. Aaron has a passion for all things creative and hopes this course will inspire the people who participate to go further and create things they never thought possible.

Painting with Watercolours – 10 weeks

Unwind and tap into your creativity this term with a relaxing 10-week Watercolours class dedicated to painting beautiful, vibrant and interesting compositions.

Run by Sudi Sural of Bubbly Beacon Art Studio, this course is perfect for beginners and hobbyists alike. Sudi will gently guide you step-by-step through blending colours, layering techniques, colour washes and capturing the delicate textures of the watercolour medium navigating through beautiful compositions (landscapes, still-life, portraits, florals etc.) Materials needed - pencil, eraser, A4 watercolour paper, 3-4 brshes (brush size 12, 8, 6, 3, 20), watercolours of good quality (cakes, tubes etc.), container to hold water, palette (plastic or glass plate) for mixing & an extra cloth to wipe off excess water.

Learn the fundamentals of building and designing modern websites from scratch. This course acts as an introduction to web development tools and best practices. Learn how to build a responsive, user-friendly website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. By the end, you will be able to design and deploy a simple website of your own.

At Searsol we provide high-quality touch-typing classes for children from the age 8 and upward in our Naas centre. Our tutor is highly professional and delivers the course in a positive environment.

Each student works at their own pace and learns the skill of touch typing using our own uniquely developed programme. Our typing classes suits children that have a learning difference such as Dyslexia or Dyspraxia (DCD) or struggles with handwriting that need to learn how to type for their exams. The classes are on Tuesday 4:30pm or 5:30 pm in St Mary's College Naas.
