With the exception of Level 5 SNA and Creative Writing, all courses commences the week of September 21st.

SNA Level 5 (QQI) – 12 weeks (Please note start date is different to other classes)

This course aims to develop the skills, knowledge & understanding of the role of the Special Needs Assistant and promote high quality practice among those working across the education system.

You will be required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of work experience (previously 30) for this course, which will give you hands-on experience and enhance your overall learning experience. You will be required to secure your own work placement.

SNA Level 6 (QQI) – 10 weeks

This course aims to develop the skills, knowledge & understanding of the role of the Special Needs Assistant and promote high quality practice among those working across the education system.

On this course, you will:

• Explore strategies to assist in the provision of this education and care. The course will explore the role of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams to ensure integration, inclusion, and equal opportunities
• Develop an understanding of the importance and function of IEP’S/PPP’s and the role you play as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Critically evaluate the provision of education for those with Special Educational Needs, with reference to past and current legislation.
• You will develop the capacity to work and communicate effectively with parents, families, colleagues, and other professionals to safeguard, support and promote children’s learning, development and well-being.

You will be required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of work experience (previously 30) for this course, which will give you hands-on experience and enhance your overall learning experience. You will be required to secure your own work placement.

Discover gentle, accessible breathwork techniques for everyone of all ages in our new 6-week course. This calming class will guide you through simple practices that support relaxation, balance and calm, helping you navigate life's busy or stressful moments with more ease.

For the class you will need to bring along a Yoga mat & water, along with a blanket & pillow for extra comfort.

(This can also be done seated for those of you who may find the floor uncomfortable).

Chair Yoga & Sound Healing – 10 weeks

Our wonderful Mary Whelan is back with this new class. Chair Yoga is a great opportunity to practice yoga in a safe & enjoyable way. We will move slowly and gently as we practice many postures to become more flexible and physically stronger sitting on a chair.

Sound Healing is an ancient wellness practice that uses sound vibrations from instruments like gongs and singing bowls to promote relaxation and healing. It works by influencing the body's frequencies, helping to restore balance and reduce stress, anxiety and pain.

Hatha Yoga – 10 weeks

Mindfulness for Stress Reduction – 10 weeks NEW

Kelley Yeates, an holistic therapist and mindfulness teacher with over 20 years experience, facilitates this new 10-week course. Mindfulness can help us through the most difficult times as we take control of our thoughts. What we focus on grows, so let's take control of mind and thoughts and focus on the right things for ourselves.

On this course you will learn:

• How to establish a daily mindfulness practice to manage stress,
• The science behind how mindfulness reshapes the brain (neuroplasticity).
• How to recognise and shift negative thinking patterns,
• Tools and techniques from Mindfulness, CBT and positive Psychology to enhance wellbeing,
• How to improve sleep, focus, emotional regulation and energy,
• A suite of guided meditations for daily integration,

Pilates – 10 weeks

This exercise regime, typically performed on a floor mat aims to improve flexibility & stability by strengthening the muscles, especially the torso-stabilising muscles of the abdomen & lower back.

Freesalsa Ireland welcomes back all our students (old & new) to St Mary’s College, to our Rueda de Casino (Salsa Cubana) and Bachata classes for 2026 . In this class we use a combination of footwork, choreography and fun as we take you through the basics & fundamentals of both dances.

Tai Chi for Beginners – 10 weeks NEWSOLD OUT

Discover the benefits of Tai Chi, a complete and holistic discipline that promotes harmony between mind, body and spirit. Through gentle, flowing movements and mindful practice, Tai Chi helps to improve balance, flexibility, coordination, and overall wellbeing, while encouraging relaxation and inner calm.

In this beginner's course, you will be introduced to three key elements of Tai Chi Practice.

Chi Kung (Qigong)

A standing meditation consisting of 8 postures designed to stimulate, develop and focus your internal energy. Practiced for for approximately 10 minutes each session, Chi Kung helps promote vitality, concentration and a sense of calm.

Core Exercises

A series of 12 movements that enhance balance, stability, flexibility, and posture, providing a strong foundation for your Tai Chi Practice.

Tai Chi Form

Beginners will learn the fundamental Tai Chi form building confidence and skill through a sequence of graceful movements. Each week, new movements are introduced and combined with those already learned, allowing you to progress steadily and enjoyably throughout the course.

This 10 week course is for those who are looking to improve their physical health, reduce stress or develop greater mindfulness.

Please note that the first five classes are one hour long, with the final five classes increasing to 90 minutes in length. Loose comfortable clothing to be worn and don't forget a bottle of water.

Always wanted to learn barbering but don't know where to start? This course is for YOU! No experience? No problem as our 10-week introduction to Barbering Course is designed specifically for complete beginners. With just one evening per week, you'll learn the essential skills and techniques needed to become barbershop ready (Client consultations & communication, fading & blending, scissor work & techniques, beard trims, product knowledge, styling & finishing).

You'll be trained by an award-winning barber with over 20 years of industry experience, learning through hands-on practical sessions in a supportive environment. From professional client consultation to cutting men's hair and facial hair, you'll build confidence to create great haircuts from day one!

This course is facilitated by Mary Whelan, whose work was among a select group chosen from over 400 submissions for the prestigious Kate O'Riordan Prize for Short Fiction at the Kenmare Arts Festival 2026.

Suitable for beginners and experienced writers alike, this 10-week course will help you use your creative imagination and express it through literature. Stories will be written as you develop characters, settings, dialogue, and many other writing tools.

All you need is a brand-new notebook and a pen.

Have you ever wanted to perform or simply escape your everyday life by creating and becoming a character? Take a step into the fascinating world of acting, work with other students to build different characters and see where they take you in this one-of-a-kind course.

"Acting 101: The fundamentals" allows students to pick up a base knowledge of the skills you need to begin your acting journey, whether that be at a hobbyist or professional level. The course provides confidence when entering a rehearsal space for the first time that you know as much as everyone else in the room. It will also be a safe place to explore your creativity while having fun and learning the craft of acting.

Aaron Lockhart will be your guide on this journey. A current industry professional with over 16 years of experience in Shows like “Fair City”, “Red Rock” and the award-winning film “Herself”, he can confidently guide you in the right direction if you would like to pursue a future in acting as well as keeping the classes incredibly fun and engaging if you would just like to join your local theatre group.

Facilitated by award winning author James Durney, you can delve deep into your family history with this 8-week course.

James works in Kildare County Archives and Local Studies & has over 15 years’ experience teaching to mature students. This introductory course will show you how to trace your family history and build up your family tree. The course will look at births, deaths, marriages, census returns and many more records from Ireland and some from the UK and USA.

Can music influence politics, inspire social movements, or shape the way we see the world?

This engaging 10-week discussion based course explores the relationship between music, culture and society throughout the 20th century. Through the evolution of genres including blues, jazz, folk, R&B and rock 'n' roll, we'll examine how music reflected - and often influenced - major moments in history.

Using key artists, iconic songs and historical context, we'll explore themes such as race, identity, youth culture, politics and social change. The course draws on ideas from cultural studies in an accessible way, encouraging discussion and a deeper appreciation of music's role in shaping society.

Painting with Acrylics – 10 weeks NEWSOLD OUT

Introducing our new painting with acrylics course, run by our wonderfully talented art tutor, Sudi Sural. This course offers hands-on, guided creative sessions where participants learn how to use acrylic paints. Acrylics are water-soluble, fast drying and highly versatile, making them the perfect medium for beginners and experienced artists alike.

Materials needed - pencil, eraser, acrylic colour set, flat brushes, round brushes, palette knives, pre-primed canvases or acrylic paper pad, an apron & table top easel. Don't worry if you don't have all the materials on your first night as Sudi will help you with what you need.

Painting with Watercolours – 10 weeks SOLD OUT

Unwind and tap into your creativity this term with a relaxing 10-week Watercolours class dedicated to painting beautiful, vibrant and interesting compositions.

Run by Sudi Sural of Bubbly Beacon Art Studio, this course is perfect for beginners and hobbyists alike. Sudi will gently guide you step-by-step through blending colours, layering techniques, colour washes and capturing the delicate textures of the watercolour medium navigating through beautiful compositions (landscapes, still-life, portraits, florals etc.) Materials needed - pencil, eraser, A4 watercolour paper, 3-4 brushes (brush size 12, 8, 6, 3, 20), watercolours of good quality (cakes, tubes etc.), container to hold water, palette (plastic or glass plate) for mixing & an extra cloth to wipe off excess water.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a home baker looking to level up, this course will give you the confidence to design, decorate, and finish cakes you'll be proud to show off.

At Searsol we provide high-quality touch-typing classes for children from the age 8 and upward in our Naas centre. Our tutor is highly professional and delivers the course in a positive environment.

Each student works at their own pace and learns the skill of touch typing using our own uniquely developed programme. Our typing classes suits children that have a learning difference such as Dyslexia or Dyspraxia (DCD) or struggles with handwriting that need to learn how to type for their exams. The classes are on Tuesday 4:30pm or 5:30 pm in St Mary's College Naas.
