Over the past number of years hockey in St. Mary’s College has grown in popularity. This year was no exception entering eight teams in Leinster School Girls Leagues.
We have two teams at each grade, Senior, Junior, Minor and First year. In each grade our A team plays in Division 1 and our B team in Division 4. Training takes place for teams after school and at lunchtimes.
Along with playing in the Leinster leagues we have also organised trips to watch the Irish Ladies’ Hockey team play in Olympic Qualifier and hope to travel to see them play again in the future. We also hosted students from Barker College in Argentina as they embarked upon a hockey tour of Ireland and Great Britain.
