St Mary's College had a strong history of participation and success in badminton. This year both social and competitive badminton is available to all students.
We have various teams at U14, U16 and U19 level, all competing in the Dublin A League. Training takes place after school Wednesday for Junior age groups and lunch time Wednesdays for senior age groups.
We are currently U19 All- Ireland champions and U16 All Ireland runners up. Last year, all age groups reached the Dublin finals in Whitehall.
While we aim to develop a competitive, team -oriented spirit, we also incorporate the fun, social element of the sport. We believe this combination will build a life long love for the sport.
This year many of our TY students, as a part of their Gaisce Award, help coach the younger age groups. This has proved very beneficial for all involved.
