Well done to the U-17 soccer team who overcame Moyne CS 4-0 on the banks of Lough Gowna in horrendous conditions today to reach the Semi-Final of the Leinster A cup. The game was played in torrential rain and strong winds but the St. Marys girls were determined to come away with victory. Orlagh Fitzpatrick opened the scoring latching onto a loose pass before rounding 2 players and smashing the ball into the corner of the net from the edge of the box. Orlagh scored again 10mins in squeezing the ball home somehow from a tight angle on the left wing catching the keeper by surprise. It was 3 nil shortly after when Leah Fleming finished off a cross from Orlagh Fitzpatrick. St Marys sealed victory early in the second half with a wonderful individual goal from Alannah Prizeman. Superb performances all round from the whole squad well done girls.
