It was a great match between two very competitive sides, both facing horrific weather conditions. St Mary’s started off strong with an early attempt from Charlotte Purcell which led to the first goal of the game.
There was terrific defence from Anna Sparrow and multiple short corners awarded to St Mary’s. The Sion Hill midfield burst through an opening in St Mary’s defence which led to a goal.
This didn’t dishearten St Mary’s and they responded extraordinary with another 5 goals. Scored by Isabelle Purcell, Charlotte Purcell and Sophie Weir. Leaving the score at half time 6:1
St Mary’s started off strong again in the second half with strong defence by Juliette and a great midfield performance by Aisling Crotty.
After a slight break due to an injury, St Mary’s continued with their determination and the final score ended 8:1.
Key player of the day was Charlotte Purcell.
