Match Reporter: Sarah Loughlin
Today’s Senior Gaelic football match took place in St Mary’s GAA Rochfortbridge against St Joseph’s. In a very close head to head we saw a great performance by both teams. St Mary’s got off to an early lead with a super goal by Leah McGovern, from there the girls went from strength to strength and managed to get another few scores on board, a great performance from the defence line only allowing St Joseph’s 4 points at half time. The score stood at 2.4 to 0.4 to St Mary’s at half time.
In the second half St Mary’s came back with even more determination and brilliant support play. St Mary’s worked well together and scores from Sarah McGovern, Leah McGovern and Lexi Reddington really secured their lead. Amazing clearances from Eimear Glancy, Laura Dunley and impressive saves by goalie Jenny Butler. Overall it was quite a challenging game however, St Mary’s came out victorious with a final score of 3.8 to 1.4!
Well done girls.
