SMCN vs St. Wolstan’s Celbridge u16 match

St Mary's Junior football team played St Wolstan’s Community School Celbridge in Celbridge today and came out with a well-deserved victory to the team after there well-earned performance.
First Half
Wolstan’s won the throw up and the midfield tackled hard to win it back to then be lost again to the other team. Wolstan’s won the SMCN kick out but missed a point by going wide. Our two midfielders Cassie and Emily working hard to bring it up the pitch to then Anna Hynes scoring the first point of the match. Holly Rocket then saved an outstanding goal chance. Aoife Keane worked hard with her great blocking. There was great pressure from the full back line throughout the whole match. Lexie Reddington then took the first free of the match and came out on top with an excellent score.
Second Half
The girls had a strong start to the second half with good opportunities being made. Great blocks being made by Regan Shaw. Emily Gallagher made great runs while Cassie and Neasa had great teamwork and working the ball up the pitch to get that score. A free for Cassie led to an amazing goal to finish up the match scored by Anna Hynes
The final score was 5:13 to 1-5. Well done to team and Mr Brennan and Ms Shorthall.
