Congratulations to the 1st year basketball team playing their first match of the year against Tullamore. They played spectacularly but unfortunately lost by three points. The final score was 38-35.
They started out with a disadvantage with the other team winning the jump ball, they played hard, but at the end of the first quarter they were behind by ten points.
In the second and third quarter the team fought tirelessly and caught up to Tullamore, starting the 4th quarter neck and neck.
A special commendation to Aoife Collings who scored an impressive 12 points throughout the match, Nuria Caldes who scored 8 points with some great steals, Amber Blake for a huge presence on the court and Isabelle Mc Namara for great defence.
